This weekend Quartermass had their first photo-shoot. We found the perfect urban grunge location in the centre of Cardiff, outside a disused building and surrounded by passing trains – the perfect backdrop for any electronic dance music act or EDM producers who make beats as filthy as these two. After at least half an hour of pissing about, Steve Noxx & Michael-Lee Collard finally managed to get some great shots, where they almost pass for looking serious. Check them out:
Post black-eye with the remainder of a burst blood vessel, we see a typical day dream through Steve Noxx’s eye set to the soundtrack of Don’t Kick Out. This video continues the theme of EDM dance music VJ visuals for Quartermass’ début EP ‘Kaput!’. Produced and edited by Steve Noxx.
The third video from Quartermass’ debut EP Kaput!. This time sampling video from an early 80’s electronic music documentary (to start and finish), and an intriguing film walking the streets of a post World War II Japanese city, coupled with some 90s VJ style effects. Produced and edited by Steve Noxx.
Haven’t you always thought that the modern day pop music video needed a 1940s twist? Throw in some sexy violin playing contortionists, cabaret dancers, a bikini competition, ice skaters and a couple of rocket launches, and you have Quartermass’ latest visual offering for bass heavy uplifting electro track ‘Up At Night’. This raunchy video takes you back to a time when burlesque was strictly for the adult men’s clubs, which is a stark contrast to the Lady Gaga and Rihanna videos of […]
The first video from Cardiff based duo Quartermass, for the lead track ‘Push Delete’ from their debut EP ‘Kaput!’. A VJ inspired and thought provoking edit, combining super slow motion and time lapse videography with footage from the controversial testing of atomic bombs. We are trying to avoid the stereotypical EDM / electronic dance music themes, and instead are attempting to put our creative efforts into something a little different. We hope one day to not only perform live, but […]
Michael-Lee Collard and Steve Noxx formed Quartermass in 2011 and recorded their debut four track EP – Kaput! in their Cardiff (Wales/UK) based studio. Kaput!, combines original vocals, synths and guitars with lashings of big electronic beats and filthy bass (out now on iTunes). Producer Steve Noxx said: “We wanted to create an original sound that would appeal to a festival crowd and global dance floors alike. Electronic dance music, electro, indie, pop and rock are being combined in events […]
